The SPOCUS Train the Trainer Program"I did not expect to learn to do ultrasound, but the instructor was able to add it to the course, which I believe is very beneficial to us."

SPOCUS will provide one-on-one training and mentorship for faculty members who desire ultrasound training, but don't feel comfortable with their ultrasound skills, or have never picked up a probe before. We can help you gain confidence or just help you plan how to best integrate the curriculum.

"...I also loved the ultrasound labs.  It's amazing we got an experience to try that out and will be extremely helpful with clinicals coming up and once we are working."

These are comments from first year PA students, written for a faculty member's recent evaluation.  Prior to the TtT Program, this professor was ultrasound naive.  The comments and evaluation were made after only five months in the TtT Program.

"The injections and IV lab was great but the best was the ultrasound.  Any time we get to be hands on is great!  The more the better!"

SPOCUS is committed to the early integration of ultrasound into the primary curriculum of our clinician's education.  Ultrasound integration is already longitudinally integrated into all 4 years of undergraduate medical education in more than 20 medical schools.  The American College of Emergency Physicians has submitted a resolution to the American Medical Association which endorses a 4 year curriculum for all medical schools.

This means every graduating clinician will soon know and understand the capabilities of ultrasound.
